A preK-12th grade Christian education developing the whole child for the glory of God.

Dear Parents,
At the Maple Valley Campus of Rainier Christian Schools, we love your kids. More than that, we love it when we see the light turn on in their eyes as they understand a new concept, master a new skill, or make a new friend. In fact, we honor a number of characteristics that help our students achieve success, whether they are an advanced student or one with learning difficulties.
Encouragement. Everyone needs that extra reminder that they are not alone in their quest for growth and learning. Whether a parent, teacher or a student, we are more successful when we know someone is in our corner cheering us on, believing in us, and helping guide us. We especially love doing that for our students.
Faithfulness. As teachers, we model what we want the students to learn. Whether that is honesty, faith, hard work, or being kind, it is our job to lead by example. And whether we are modeling faithful effort in the classroom, faithful attitudes towards friends and acquaintances, or faith in our loving God, we seek to provide a witness to our students for them to learn from and follow.
Godliness. Our God is an awesome God. He shows His character throughout Scripture. As we (students and teachers alike) become more like Him, we learn to cast off the attitudes and characteristics and worldly social norms that distance us from Him, and put on the fruits of character that come from allowing the Spirit of God to indwell in us.
Accelerated Learning. For students gifted in math, we offer an accelerated program which allows them to participate in math classes one grade higher than their current grade. This program sets them on a path that can attain Calculus by the time they are a junior in high school.
Higher Level Learning. Of course, as an institution of learning we seek to lead our students in the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. Towards that end, we help our students move beyond the memorization of facts, into comprehension of why events or facts are as they are, analysis and application of ideas, and ultimately being able to evaluate the responses of themselves or their peers. To do so, we use techniques of teaching that inspire deeper understanding and provide greater paths to student success whether in Kindergarten or 6th grade.
If you are an existing family on our campus, drop by the office sometime, and we can discuss how to help your student be as successful as possible or volunteer opportunities.
If you are considering a change in schools, we would love to set up a tour.
Sincerely,
David N. Glass, Principal
